The European project showcases its sustainable solutions to new generations at Finnova’s headquarters
Brussels, March 27, 2025 – The headquarters of Fundación Finnova in Brussels hosted today the Emerging Talent Training Event, a key gathering for Europe’s rising professionals. Throughout the event, attendees explored innovative projects funded by the European Union, focusing on sustainability, ecological transition, and agricultural innovation.
One of the featured projects was LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, an initiative developing natural fumigants from plant extracts to combat pests in horticultural crops more sustainably. By reducing the use of chemical pesticides, the project aims to promote biodiversity and enhance food security.
Eduardo Mercado, Chief Tecnology Officer at Finnova, presented the progress of LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, highlighting its impact on the transition toward a more ecological and efficient agricultural sector. The project has a total budget of €2,758,921.01, with 60% co-financing from the European Union’s LIFE programme. It is led by FumiHogar in collaboration with B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó, BrioAgro Tech, and Fundación Finnova.
