The European project takes part in Greencities 2025 to promote sustainable farming and expand its global reach
Málaga, 3 October 2025. The European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN took part in Greencities 2025, a leading sustainability and innovation forum held in Málaga. At the stand of Fundación Finnova, a consortium partner, the project presented its progress in the development of plant-based natural fumigants designed to replace chemical pesticides in greenhouse horticultural crops.
Beyond increasing visibility, the event served as a platform for strategic networking and to reinforce the project’s international projection. Key contacts included Carlos Ramos, Chief Operating Officer of FumiHogar and project coordinator; Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Finnova; Pedro Ferreira, from Prosperity Team (Portugal); and Manuel Salvador Cuero Villegas, Director of Supervision at Ibagué Limpia (Colombia).
With a total budget of €2,758,921.01, co-financed at 60% by the European Union’s LIFE Programme, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN develops a natural biopesticide that protects biodiversity, improves food safety and contributes to more sustainable farming systems. The consortium is coordinated by FumiHogar, with the participation of B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó, Tecnova, BrioAgro Tech and Finnova Foundation.
