· The European project will showcase its sustainable fumigation technology in Liège (Belgium) through a practical demonstration of innovative biosolutions
· On the occasion of World Environment Day, the project reinforces its commitment to more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture
· The initiative is part of EU Green Week and promotes innovation in biosolutions and precision agriculture
Friday, 5 June 2026, Brussels. The European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN will participate on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 June in the International Spring School organised by Wagralim in Liège, Belgium, where it will present a practical demonstration of its sustainable fumigation technology aimed at crop protection through innovative biosolutions.
The event will bring together experts, companies, researchers and European organisations involved in agri-food innovation, precision agriculture and sustainable biological solutions. Participation will include consortium partners such as FumiHogar, Tecnova and Finnova, represented by Candela Aparicio, Communication Assistant.
European Innovation in Sustainable Biosolutions
Wagralim’s International Spring School is recognised as a leading European forum for discussing emerging biosolutions and digital innovations applied to the agri-food sector. The programme includes technical presentations, scientific poster sessions and demonstration visits focused on sustainable technologies.
In this context, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN will showcase the potential of its sustainable fumigation technology based on plant extracts and less toxic formulations for greenhouse crops. The initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact associated with conventional plant protection products while promoting agricultural models aligned with the European Green Deal.

World Environment Day: Innovation for Sustainable Agriculture
On the occasion of World Environment Day, celebrated today on 5 June, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN reaffirms its commitment to developing innovative solutions that help reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. Through the development of biosolutions based on plant extracts and more sustainable crop protection technologies, the project contributes to European objectives related to sustainability, circular bioeconomy and the green transition.
Practical Demonstration and International Workshop
The practical demonstration of the fumigation product in a greenhouse provided by the event organisers will be one of the key activities of LIFE NextFUMIGREEN’s participation. This initiative will offer attendees the opportunity to observe the project’s solution operating under real conditions.
In addition, the consortium will facilitate an interactive session using digital tools such as Mentimeter to collect feedback from participants and strengthen the international and participatory dimension of the workshop. This methodology will help assess expert and stakeholder perceptions regarding the application of sustainable biosolutions in agriculture.
Consortium Participation and European Dimension
During the event, Carlos Ramos, representative of FumiHogar and lead partner of the project, will take part in the session entitled “Technological and Industrial Innovations in Biosolutions and Precision Agronomy Systems”, focusing on technological and industrial innovations in biosolutions and precision agriculture systems.
Finnova will also participate through Candela Aparicio, Communication Assistant, who will contribute to strengthening the project’s European dimension and promoting initiatives linked to European innovation and sustainability programmes.
LIFE NextFUMIGREEN’s participation in this international event also coincides with EU Green Week, the European Commission’s flagship initiative promoting environmental policies, sustainability and the green transition across Europe. This connection will help increase the project’s international visibility and reinforce its alignment with European sustainability and circular bioeconomy objectives.
