- The project, which develops natural fumigants for more sustainable agriculture, was represented by Tecnova and the Finnova Foundation at a key event for the European innovation ecosystem
Brussels, 7th April 2025. On Thursday, 3rd April, the European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN participated in the CBE JU Info Day 2025, held at the Charlemagne building in Brussels. This key event brought together representatives of the European innovation ecosystem to explore funding opportunities under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) programme, aimed at accelerating the shift towards a circular and sustainable bioeconomy.
The event outlined the 2025 call priorities and provided practical guidance for submitting proposals. It also featured a networking space to foster new collaborations in the field of industrial biotechnology.
LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, which develops natural fumigants for more sustainable agriculture, was represented by the teams of Centro Tecnológico Tecnova and the Finnova Foundation. Representing Finnova were Davide Grechi (Project Officer), Aleix Castells Vallmitjana (Communications Office Assistant) and Ana María Sánchez (Assistant Project Manager EU), who supported the creation of international synergies alongside the technical team from Tecnova.

The CBE JU programme seeks to promote bio-based solutions that reduce dependence on fossil-based materials. Its objectives include fostering innovation in sustainable materials and products, lowering the environmental impact of industrial production, and boosting public-private collaboration. For 2025, the programme offers a significant budget to fund projects that contribute to a circular economy in Europe.
Following the event, the project team visited the Finnova headquarters in Brussels, where a follow-up meeting was held led by CEO Juan Manuel Revuelta. Also attending the meeting was Harry Hersch Reich, Vicepresident Europe Investment, who joined the team for an institutional visit to strengthen collaboration between both organisations.
