The project shared experiences with more than 20 European initiatives working on sustainable agriculture and strengthened collaborations with key actors in the agri-food sector.
Brussels, 11 December 2025. From 3 to 5 December, the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project took part in the LIFE Platform Meeting on AgriFood, a European gathering hosted at the University of Bologna and organised by the IMAGE LIFE project in collaboration with DG CLIMA and the executive agency CINEA.
Representing the project, Carlos Ramos, Operations Manager at FumiHogar and technical leader of LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, attended the meetings, participated in plenary sessions and contributed the project’s perspective during several thematic workshops focused on the future of sustainable agriculture in Europe.
The event brought together more than 20 LIFE projects dedicated to agri-food innovation, climate change mitigation, sustainable production and new solutions for the agricultural sector. The presence of policy makers, European institutions, research centres and companies added significant strategic value to the exchange of knowledge and collaboration opportunities.
Among the highlights, participants engaged in networking activities, technical visits to learn about local initiatives, and an official Parmesan cheese tasting, organised as part of the LIFE event—an ideal space to encourage informal exchanges between teams and experts.
Additionally, on Friday, 5 December, the project team visited the facilities of Circular Farm, exploring potential synergies in circular economy, agricultural innovation and sustainable development.
Participation in this platform meeting enables LIFE NextFUMIGREEN to strengthen its European positioning, share project progress and identify opportunities to expand the impact and scalability of its natural fumigant solutions for greenhouse environments.
