Brussels, April 9, 2024. LIFE NextFUMIGREEN was present last Monday, April 8, at the UNIR’s Continuing Education Master’s Degree in Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Agri-food Sector. The event, held in deferred from Brussels by Juanma Revueltas, CEO of the Finnova Foundation, partner of the project, allowed to introduce the various projects co-financed by the European Union funds related to the circular and sustainable economy of the food chain.

Juanma Revueltas explained to the young students the main aspects of the project, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, which aims to develop natural fumigants to replace chemical biofumigants in greenhouses and promote biodiversity and food safety. ‘The project can evolve thanks to the awareness, training, and professionalization of agricultural professionals,’ said Revuelta. The CEO of the Foundation also explained the possibility of replicating this type of projects to other European programs and countries in calls that are already open or about to open. With a budget of €2,758,921.01 from European funds, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is one of the most notable projects that foresees the improvement of food safety as a result of residue-free food, and positive effects on biodiversity and climate change.

The class at the Finnova headquarters in Brussels was an enriching occasion to introduce to the young people, concerned about sustainability and digitalization, the great opportunities that exist in the European Union.
