Finnova highlights its role in the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project during EU Green Week 2024

The organisation supports legal compliance, communication, and the search for new funding to scale the project’s impact.

Brussels, 17th July 2025. The Finnova Foundation participated in EU Green Week 2024 with an interview highlighting its contribution to the European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN. Juan Manuel Revuelta, General Manager of the foundation, outlined Finnova’s work in three key areas: regulatory compliance, communication of results, and identification of new financing opportunities.

Finnova provides legal advice to help ensure that the project meets European legislation. It also leads actions on communication, dissemination and results transfer. In addition, it works to identify complementary funding sources that could support the replication of the project in other EU regions.

“Finnova’s mission is to support the consortium’s legal compliance, transfer this good idea through communication, and seek new funding sources to bring it to a European scale,” said Revuelta.

The foundation co-finances 40% of its participation in the project and brings extensive experience in EU fund management, training and auditing.

LIFE NextFUMIGREEN develops natural solutions based on plant extracts to control whitefly and botrytis in greenhouse horticultural crops. Its goal is to improve the sustainability of the agricultural sector, protect biodiversity and reduce the use of chemical products.

The project is coordinated by FumiHogar and involves B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó, BrioAgro Tech and the Finnova Foundation. It has a total budget of €2,758,921.01, runs for four and a half years, and is co-funded 60% by the European Union’s LIFE Programme.
