The European project took part in one of the leading international events for the agricultural sector, held from 10 to 12 June, to promote sustainable solutions and strengthen strategic partnerships.
Brussels, 13th June 2025. The LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project participated in the 2025 edition of GreenTech Amsterdam, held from 10 to 12 June at the RAI Amsterdam convention centre. Represented by the Centro Tecnológico Tecnova, a project partner, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN presented its innovative approach based on plant-derived natural fumigants to control pests in greenhouse horticultural crops.
Participation in this international forum provided an opportunity to showcase a more sustainable and less toxic alternative to conventional chemical pesticides to key stakeholders in the agri-food industry. It also served as a strategic platform to build new partnerships with other technology providers and explore future opportunities for European cooperation in ecological agriculture.
Coordinated by FumiHogar, the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN consortium includes BrioAgro Tech, Centro Tecnológico Tecnova, B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó, and the Finnova Foundation. The project is 60% co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme and has a total budget of €2,758,921.01.
LIFE NextFUMIGREEN aims to validate the effectiveness of a new plant-based fumigant biopesticide for controlling whitefly and botrytis outbreaks. The solution seeks to enhance food safety, reduce the environmental impact of agriculture, and support the professionalisation of the sector through the adoption of biodiversity-friendly tools.
Participation in GreenTech Amsterdam reinforces the project’s alignment with the objectives of the European Green Deal and strengthens its position as a reference for sustainable agricultural innovation at the European level.
