Carlos Ramos, Head of Operations at Fumi-Hogar, presented in Madrid a safer and more efficient method for applying biopesticides in greenhouses
Brussels, 6 June 2025 – The European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN took the stage at Biopesticides Europe 2025, which gathered leading experts on 4–5 June in the Spanish capital. In a key presentation, Carlos Ramos, Head of Operations at Fumi-Hogar, introduced a dry microdispersion system for applying biopesticides—offering uniform treatment without water, operator exposure, or chemical residues.
The system disperses natural active substances, such as pyrethrins, in the form of smoke that fills the greenhouse space, reaching even the most concealed crop areas. Each canister contains a pre-measured dose and includes a full traceability system with batch identification, ensuring safety and repeatability.
LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is coordinated by Fumi-Hogar, with the participation of B&B Asesores, BrioAgro Tech, Comercial Química Massó, Fundación Tecnova and Finnova Foundation. The project has a total budget of €2,758,921, 60% of which is co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme.
Implemented in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, the project aims to reduce the use of chemical pesticides in greenhouse crops such as peppers and tomatoes. Its benefits include enhanced food safety, reduced environmental impact, and alignment with ecological farming strategies.
