February 12th:  Biopesticides at the core of the EU innovation agenda

At the “Research and Innovation on Pesticides” event, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN presented its plant-based solutions, aligned with the Green Deal and the Farm to Fork Strategy.

March 12th: Mid-term monitoring visit at TECNOVA in Almería

A technical mission from CINEA assessed project progress, confirming strong partner engagement and commitment to safe and effective pest control alternatives.

March 14th: Strengthening visibility at Transfiere 2025

At the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, the project shared its progress in developing non-toxic biopesticides. It strengthened connections with the innovation ecosystem and showcased its commitment to sustainability.

April 7th: The project participates in the CBE JU Info Day 2025.

  

LIFE NextFUMIGREEN shared its approach to circular bioeconomy and environmental health, contributing to EU-level dialogue on biopesticide innovation and regulation.

April 18th: Chilean delegation explores LIFE NextFUMIGREEN in Almería

Representatives from FedeFruta and Finnova visited the project within the AL-INVEST Verde technical mission. The exchange highlighted the relevance of the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN model in global agri-food transitions.

May 16th: Agricultural students visit the project at TECNOVA

Fifty students from Vícar Agricultural School participated in an educational visit to discover LIFE NextFUMIGREEN’s natural biopesticide technology. The activity fostered awareness and knowledge transfer among future farmers.

At this major international trade fair in Almería, the project exhibited its latest results and innovations in natural pest control. The team engaged with growers, agronomists and stakeholders interested in sustainable crop protection.

June 6th : New technology presented at Biopesticides Europe 2025

LIFE NextFUMIGREEN introduced its dry microdispersion system during the event in Madrid, showcasing a novel application method that improves biopesticide efficiency while lowering costs and environmental impact.

June 13th : GreenTech Amsterdam spotlights LIFE NextFUMIGREEN’s innovation

At Europe’s leading agri-tech exhibition, the project presented its circular agriculture model based on natural fumigants. The session highlighted its replicability and alignment with European sustainability policies.

June 25th : TECNOVA presents the project at Brussels S3 Agricultural Biosolutions Days

Representing the consortium, TECNOVA took part in the S3 meetings in Brussels, promoting the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project as a reference in the development of safe and efficient biosolutions for agriculture.

World Creativity and Innovation Week

To celebrate this global week, the project reaffirmed its commitment to safe, sustainable farming by promoting biopesticides as alternatives to synthetic pesticides.

The EU tightens its rules on hazardous pesticides
New restrictions on chemical products reinforce the urgency of switching to natural alternatives. LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is at the forefront of this transition with its plant-based solutions.

🔬 FIELD TRIALS: SCIENCE IN ACTION

At the TECNOVA Technology Centre in Almería, Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) trials assess FumiGREEN’s effectiveness against thrips, whiteflies, and aphids. A new testing phase launched in June 2025 focuses on thrips, one of the most challenging pests in horticulture.

Meanwhile, in Sicily (Italy), open-field trials began in April 2025 on bell pepper crops. These aim to evaluate the real-world performance of the natural fumigants under different climate conditions and crop management practices. The results will inform scalability and transferability of the solution across Mediterranean agricultural systems.
